Phone Memory Vs Storage

Words that are frequently used and seem to indicate the same thing are memory and storage. Random access memory (RAM), also referred to as “memory,” is the short-term memory of your computer, smartphone, or tablet. When you turn off your device, items in memory evaporate because it is “volatile.”

Hard drives and solid-state drives (SSDs), which are best thought of as long-term memory, are often referred to as storage. The forms of long-term storage that differ between hard drives and SSDs are speed and price, with the latter being more common.

Storage is putting down a phone number on paper, whereas memory/RAM is remembering a phone number that someone gives you. The probability that you will forget the number is higher, although you might be able to recall it for a long.

Although it will take a little longer to obtain the paper when you need to check the number if you write it down and keep it in your pocket, at least the paper will have the number on it.
